Buddha’s head in stone
€1,700.00Price
This head carved in rough stone is a museum piece, the perfect preservation of this work allows us to analyze all the details sculpted by the author.
The style and the stone used recalls the statues present in the Borobudur complex while the represented physiognomy makes us think of Amitabha, a particular Buddha that according to the Mahayana school possesses infinite merits and virtues.
However, this statue has some unique traits that characterize it, such as the total absence of the relief at the third eye and the simpler hair at a single level, the most common feature in the Far East.
